Love Written Into It: A Lenten Calendar book of readings

I wanted my children to look forward to Easter as much as they anticipated Christmas, so I created this book of readings as a meaningful "countdown" to Easter. These simple readings are accessible to children while remaining meaningful and thought-provoking for adults. The short readings (beginning on Ash Wednesday) will take you on a journey through the story of how God freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, and during the second half, parallels with the story of how Jesus frees each of us from slavery to sin. Throughout it all, follow the thread of God's quest to reveal the depth of God's never-ending love for all people - how love is written into our story since the beginning. This book works very well when paired with the countdown calendar materials.
